About Rum River Adventures

We offer canoe, kayak, tubes, transportation and camping services in the beautiful Rum River area. See the Rum River State Water Trail maps for details about the river which flows from Mille Lacs Lake to the Mississippi in Anoka. Our location is near Cambridge, so pricing is based on drop off and pick up locations from the Walbo launch (at mile 56.8) to Martins launch in Isanti (at mile 34.7). These are shown on map 2 area of the Rum River water trail.

We will meet you at your launch point with the watercraft, life vests, and paddles. In addition, we pick you up and take you back to the launch point. The recommended day trips are from Walbo to Cambridge West (14.3 miles) or from Highway 14 to Martin's landing near Isanti(14.9 miles). Options for a half day trip are from Highway 14 to Cambridge West (7.1 miles) or from Walbo to Highway 14 (7.2 miles). These would be more like 8 hours in a tube versus a kayak. The shortest tube trip would be from Becklin County Park to Highway 14 (2 miles)and the other option is from Walbo to the Becklin County Park (5.2 miles). Times can significantly vary if paddling ability is limited or recent rainfalls have occurred.

We have four camping sites on our farm that allow you to be at the meadow, marsh, or on the pond. Our goal is to provide a more remote and peaceful experience. You will hear the sandhill cranes and the pheasants cackling. There is water nearby, but we do not provide sewer or electric at the site. We can take you directly from your campsite to enjoy your Rum River adventure!
